NewcastleGateshead Local Plan
As the government is keen to bring forward partnership working between local planning authorities and combined authorities, Gateshead Council and Newcastle City Council are working together to prepare a joint local plan.
The joint local plan will be a strategic planning framework to meet our joint ambitions including for sustainable growth and healthy communities.
Joint working will help us to consider how we can make provision to meet our housing, employment and infrastructure needs, and to tackle health inequalities.
Get involved
At each stage residents, businesses and stakeholders will be able to provide comments on the plan. The responses will be analysed and used to help shape the plan.
